In 2006, I started the Bachelor of Science program at STFX. My dorm roommate was a nursing student, and I met more nursing students through her. They showed me the nursing building and the labs. I loved what I saw. It looked fun to have hands-on work related to what you learn.
I was able to switch to the nursing program and started in 2007. Soon after I heard about the accelerated option for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I had no idea about the different options until a fellow student informed me about their plan to switch to the accelerated nursing program. I thought to myself if they can do it, maybe I can too. The courses I took could be used to switch to the accelerated option.
I had the marks and average to apply. I did have to take an extra course to meet the requirements for the accelerated option. This switch changed my graduate year from June 2011 to December 2010. Joining the accelerated nursing program also meant receiving a 2010 X ring, which I really wanted!
