My name is Emma Atwell, and I am a proud Mi’kmaq LPN from Glooscap First Nation. I grew up in my community from infancy until I was 19, and it will always be the place I call home. From a young age, I knew nursing was my calling, and I’ve always loved being involved in my community. If you ask anyone who knows me, they would say caregiving is in my nature.
Now, as a nurse, I take great pride in both my profession and my cultural heritage. I aim to bring my nursing skills back to my community and others in the future. Being part of this initiative has been an incredible opportunity to celebrate both my career and Mi’kmaq identity.
