My journey of becoming a nurse began when my sister was born in the year 2000. She was born at 26 weeks, and at that time, it was very high risk, and there was a slim chance that she would survive. I remember visiting the NICU and just being in awe of the whole thing – it was like its own little world. Back then, I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do.
Since graduating in 2016 from Dalhousie University, I’ve had many wonderful opportunities. I have had the privilege of working in many Neonatal ICU units all across the US and continue to grow my knowledge and competency in the field that I love.
